M.L. Sutter ....

I am a self-taught American artist currently living in Lynchburg, Virginia. I specialize in abstract contemporary resin art.

My work is influenced by nature and pop culture. I try to create a physical manifestation of modernity while visually highlighting the natural world. Creating with resin gives me a limited time in which to work, which means I have to rely on my creative instincts, and trust the process and myself.  It is very organic and exciting.

Creating abstract, amorphic designs is very fulfilling to me. My work doesn’t always reference recognizable forms, and so the viewer’s impressions are open to an interpretation that is both multifaceted and unique to each person.

I believe art should evoke emotion and inspire the imagination. Many clients tell me they see different things within my work. I encourage my clients to move the painting around, view it in different orientations. Let the work speak to you.

These abstract works are the result of a combination of techniques created through a multi-layering process. Please go to the About the Art page to learn more.

Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.
